7. Living from that Will, supported by its unfailing Wisdom and Understanding, mine is the Victorious Life.
8. I look forward with confidence to the perfect realization of the Eternal Splendor of the Limitless Light.
9. In thought and word and deed, I rest my life, from day to day, upon the sure Foundation of Eternal Being.
10. The Kingdom of Spirit is embodied in my flesh.
The Pattern on the Trestleboardは、BOTA派によって、「西洋の伝統の中でもっとも重要な文書の一つ」（Paul A. Clark "Paul Foster Case: his Life and Works", Covina, 2013, P.85）と評価されている。実際、BOTA系の書籍には多く掲載されている。
ちなみに「Trestleboard」との聞きなれない言葉は、オカルトではメイソン用語としてでてくる。詳細については、このリンク先のメイソン用語辞典を参照して欲しい。ここでは、「The Pattern on the Trestleboard」で、概ね、建物を建てる際など、見えるところにおいて、適時参照する青写真、設計図、そんな感じで使用されている。用語の選択が、さすがにBuildersといえるだろう。
また、Ann Daviesは、これを主題とした小冊子"This is Truth about the Self: A Qabalistic Interpretation ofo the Pattern on the Trestleboard"(3rd rev. ed. , Builders of the Adytym, 1974)を残している。興味がある方はそちらを参照してもいいだろう。
さて、この短いThe Pattern on the Trestleboardであるが、デイビスの上記書籍の副題に「カバラ的解釈」との言葉があることから分かるように、１０の聖なる流出である生命の木に関係する。しかし、第１文に、定冠詞付きThe Selfとあるように、「自己」（真なる自己といった方が正確である）に関する事項として書かれている点に特徴がある。
私たちは、生命の木を論じるとき、得てして、創造の過程、あるいは生命の木の行法のような肉体のセンターの話として論じがちである。この文書は、それらが、自分に関する今、ここにある問題ということを強く訴えかけている。
また、この文書は、アファメーションとして、或いは瞑想のテクニックとしても重要である。そして、それ以上に、私たちの心の殻を溶かし、宇宙に充満し偏在する生命の力をよりよく受け取る準備作業として重要である。
「靈氣」を学ぶ人が、
招福の秘法 万病の霊薬の五戒を朝夕となえるように、これを唱えるのは非常に有益である。

私の言葉だけでは信用できないと思うので、これに関連する、F.I.リガルディの言葉を、彼の非常に重要な作品である「真の治療の技術」（亀井勝行訳）（イスラエル・リガルディー『柘榴の園』（１９８３、国書刊行会）所収）から引用する（184-186頁）。引用した文言の所々に、The Pattern on the Trestleboardが教えるものと共通の教えを見て取ることができるだろう。
心身双方に健康をもたらすには、意志をもって力を利用することである。管理下にあって、そのような力は磁気的に働く。即ち、この力は前述の手段を用いる者達に、人生の物質的精神的必需品――緊急に求めるもの、もしくは更なる発展に必要なものを引き寄せるのである。精神治療体系の根幹をなす観念がこれである。我々の周囲を取り巻くと同時に微小な体細胞のおのおのにまで充満して、霊的な力は存在するのである。この力は偏在し、無限なのである。[…]この力こそ、生命の本質なのだ。
[…]疲労とはいったい何であるのか。宇宙的な力の流れが日々人に注がれて心身に浸透するというなら、どうして消耗などということが起こるのであろうか。
第一に、流れにあらがいすぎて、疲労して患う。[…]だが、ちっぽけな人間がどうやって宇宙を拒絶できるというのだろう。それどころか、宇宙内部で発展を続けまさに宇宙の基たるべき力に、どうやって対抗し対立するというのか。心の表面的な自己満足、混乱、気弱さ、生命の本質に対する誤解、等々……、これらが精神の内なる流れに対抗する原因となっているのである。これが無意識的なものである[…]生命への抵抗も、同様に不随意的なものである。人は自分自身を、凝固した偏見とひどい幻想の殻、つまり外なる生命光の流入を許さぬ鎧で被覆しているのだ。
[…]自由と健康への第一ステップは、我々が生き、動き、存在する広大な霊的貯蔵所を意識することである。こういった内的人生観の眼目を成そうとする知的努力を繰り返すことで、自動的に、精神の頑固かつ硬直した殻の幾分かが溶け崩れていく。そうすると、生命と活気が豊かに注ぎこまれるようになるのである。
